Rhonda could be the most technical challenging character that I worked on in this movie. Initial design by Dave Cooper, to final facial design by Craig Kellman. Under the direction of Ruben Perez ,Kendal Cronkhite and Tim Lamb. Each time there was a revision on pattern or design, I would need to go back and redo everything on the body panels (asymmetry model and paint job). As you all can see, this creature/vehicle went through quite a few different versions. Thankfully ZBrush really helped out throughout the process, so I can do the revisions quickly. Rhonda is like a armadillo that has soccer ball like patterns and accordion body. On top of that, Rhonda can transform whenever there is a need, whether swimming or racing. I enjoyed put her into different mode and try out different pose and movements. I hope you all like how she turns out in the movie.
